ETHOS
I believe that the mind and body are connected at all levels and, to deny or ignore either, is to deny or ignore part of yourself as a whole. When the body denies or ignores what the mind is telling it, the mind is at risk of mental illness, depression or anxiety. Likewise, when the mind denies or ignores what the body is telling it, troubling and inexplicable psychosomatic symptoms may be experienced. It is important, in my view, to recognise that both elements must be balanced and psychological or psychosomatic symptoms may indicate that you are ignoring one aspect of yourself to its detriment; these are the ways in which one aspect of the self is warning you that something is wrong.
