KEN CROSLAND I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with adults and couples. My private practice is located in Richmond Upon Thames and Fitzrovia, Central London. I also work online via Zoom and Skype. I offer a confidential space where you can feel safe, understood and trusted as you start to explore the reasons why you feel as you do. |
I have considerable experience working with clients who seek help for a range of emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low mood, panic disorder, family and relationship issues, loss, low self-esteem, work-related stress, and addictions (alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, internet).I have many years experience of working with 12-step programmes.
I am experienced in short-term counselling as well as long term therapy.
HOW THERAPY CAN HELP
Therapy is a very personal process. It gives you the chance to explore your thoughts, behaviour and emotions in a safe and impartial setting, outside your usual circles of family and friends, and with a trained professional whom you can trust to keep things confidential.
Talking about your difficulties, and working them through in this setting, can help you see things from a different perspective. As well as helping to ease emotional difficulties or destructive behavioural patterns, it can lead to deep and long-lasting changes allowing you to move forward with increased confidence and resource to meet life's challenges, and a greater openness to new experiences.
MY APPROACH
As an Integrative therapist I am able to draw on a range of knowledge and skills from different established theoretical backgrounds - particularly Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies. We are all unique and this way of working helps me to adapt the therapy to fit the client, rather than adapting the client to fit the therapy.
My overall aim is to provide a safe and empathic environment where you can find understanding of where problems originate, process the feelings experienced as you acquire this understanding, and begin to heal and move forwards in your life, with greater confidence and reourcefulness.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and subscribe to their code of ethics.
Before becoming a therapist, I held management positions in both media and hospitality sectors. I know first-hand the challenges and stresses of demanding workplaces, particularly the struggle to balance all aspects of our lives, both personal and professional, and of building and maintaining healthy relationships.
I have worked with and advised many leading hospitality employers including Hyatt Regency, Claridges, Dorchester, Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, The Goring, Soho House Group, Fat Duck Group and Gordon Ramsay Group.
I am also Chair of Trustees of The Bridge Recovery Community
