Paul Watmore Counsellor , Clinical Supervisor and EMDR therapist
I am a counsellor with15 years experience working both in the public and private sectors, dealing with issues such as: anxiety, stress, depression, trauma / PTSD, bereavement, personal development, relationships and addictions. As a person centred / existential counsellor, I believe in providing a safe/non judgemental space for clients to explore their issues and subjective experiences and to facilitate empowerment through a journey of safe introspection. As a a clinical supervisor, I seek, throughout my work, to empower my supervises. I use an appreciative inquiry approach, allowing them to reflect on their clients and on counselling and psychotherapy as a profession, as well as enabling them to understand their role in these fields. When supervising I work using the “Seven Mode Model”, developed by Robin Shohet and his team at C.S.T.D. Those wishing to read about this method, I can highly recommend the book “Passionate Supervision” co-authored by Robin Shohet. |
